“UZBEKISTAN IS NO LONGER AN EMERGING STORY. INSTITUTIONAL CAPITAL IS ALREADY BEING DEPLOYED HERE AT SCALE BY SERIOUS PLAYERS.”

WHAT DOES AUIC OFFER THAT OTHER ENTRY POINTS CANNOT?

AUIC offers what very few private vehicles can: sovereign backing on both sides of the border, paired with the speed and discipline of a commercial investment platform. Uzbekistan today sits in a phase of strong growth and rising foreign capital inflows, supported by the deepening strategic partnership between Baku and Tashkent that continues to open fresh avenues for cooperation across industries. Our tickets typically run between US$ 1 million and US$ 25 million, with minority stakes of up to 49% and a horizon of five to eight years.

Each transaction is rigorously diligenced and approved at Supervisory Board level. Founders keep full operational control. We work alongside them at board level to strengthen governance and financial discipline as the company scales. For an international investor weighing first entry into Uzbekistan, AUIC brings together institutional credibility, deep market knowledge, a structured co-investment framework, and an active partner who stays in the deal long after the wire clears.

HOW DO YOU SELECT SECTORS BEYOND FINANCIAL RETURN?

The mandate is clear. Support economic development across both countries while building industrial capacity and deepening bilateral economic ties between Tashkent and Baku. Our priority sectors combine stable demand with long-term transformation potential: energy, logistics, manufacturing, digital solutions, education, and healthcare. Within each, the decisive question is whether a project transfers real technology to local teams and reduces import dependence in a meaningful way. Investment discipline sits firmly alongside that mandate.

We target returns above 12% IRR and capital multiples of 1.5 to 2.5x. Each opportunity is also tested against a wider lens that asks whether it brings new capabilities into the country, generates skilled employment in regions beyond the capital, reinforces domestic production for export markets, and strengthens the country's wider trade footprint. A useful illustration is our US$ 2 million investment in the American University of Technology in Tashkent, developed jointly with Cintana Education and Arizona State University. We see it as a contribution to a modern academic environment shaping the next generation of competitive Uzbek talent.

HOW DOES THE BILATERAL ARCHITECTURE SHAPE DAILY OPERATIONS?

Architecture is one of AUIC's quiet strengths. Ministers from both governments sit on our Supervisory Board, which delivers strategic alignment, long-term commitment, credibility with counterparties, and a level of patience that few private vehicles can match. Every investment moves through a structured, multi-stage process before it reaches Supervisory Board approval. That framework pairs strategic oversight with disciplined commercial judgement.

Day to day, AUIC functions as an independent investment platform. The team originates and executes transactions on a fully commercial basis, free from political interference, while remaining anchored to the broader economic priorities of both states. For portfolio companies the implications are tangible. Alongside the cheque, they gain a partner whose institutional weight strengthens their standing with co-investors and lenders, and that weight signals alignment with long-term national priorities, which can prove decisive when operating in regulated or capital-intensive sectors such as energy or large-scale industry.

WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE TO INTERNATIONAL INVESTORS TODAY?

AUIC sits at the intersection of two increasingly integrated economies. Uzbekistan is entering a new phase of growth, supported by ongoing structural reforms and a deep pipeline of bankable projects across industry and infrastructure. Foreign investment has scaled sharply in recent years. The government continues to pursue an ambitious agenda to attract further capital inflows over the period ahead. Within that context, AUIC offers a structured route to access Uzbekistan's growth alongside a sovereign-backed partner with a long-term perspective.

Our message is direct: Uzbekistan is no longer an emerging story. Institutional capital is already being deployed here at scale by serious players. Early engagement today means better access on the ground and stronger partnerships at the table, with room to enter projects at a formative stage, when terms are still being defined and relationships still being built.
