WITH EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN THE OIL AND GAS SECTOR IN KAZAKHSTAN AND TURKMENISTAN, CIS HAS ESTABLISHED ITSELF AS A LEADING REFERENCE IN THE REGION.

CAN YOU SHARE YOUR VISION FOR CIS OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS AND HOW YOU PLAN TO ACHIEVE IT?

We plan to extend our presence to the eastern part of Turkmenistan by participating in various tenders in our region and acquiring new equipment for drilling, workover, and related service operations. Engaging with local stakeholders, such as government bodies, state-owned enterprises, and community stakeholders, is essential for successfully navigating the market. We will invest in advanced technologies and workforce training to enhance operational efficiency and build goodwill with local authorities. Additionally, we will emphasize sustainable practices and comply with environmental regulations to enhance our reputation and ensure smoother regulatory approvals. By carefully considering these opportunities and challenges, oil well service companies can strategically position themselves to capitalize on the potential of the Turkmenistan market while mitigating associated risks.

HOW DOES CIS PRIORITIZE SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE IN ITS OPERATIONS?

Our policy is to conduct all operations in a manner that protects people and property while complying with all applicable legislation. We recognize that preventing accidents and ill health is essential to the efficient operation of our business. Therefore, managing health and safety issues is given equal importance alongside operational and commercial considerations. At CIS, we prioritize customer satisfaction and the reliability of our processes. We carefully identify, analyze, monitor, and review any factors that could impact these areas or our management system's integrity. To address this, we use risk-based thinking as a crucial part of our strategic management process. Our management is committed to providing sufficient resources and ensuring smooth operations. We adhere to all laws and regulations, using the latest industry standards and best practices. Adhering to these standards allows us to deliver high-quality services and products that benefit everyone.

HOW IS CIS SUPPORTING TURKMENISTAN’S LEADING ENERGY INDUSTRY?

An oil service company can leverage its regional experience to support Turkmenistan's leading energy industry through several strategic initiatives. These initiatives would encompass technical expertise, local partnerships, and sustainable practices.

By implementing advanced drilling and workover technologies such as horizontal drilling, hydraulic fracturing, and managed pressure drilling, the company can enhance the efficiency and safety of drilling operations. Cooperation with state-owned entities and private companies will combine local knowledge with international expertise, facilitating smoother operations and mutual growth.

Investing in the development of the local workforce through training programs, workshops, and certification courses can help build a skilled labor pool, improve safety standards, and enhance operational efficiency. Implementing and promoting environmentally friendly practices and spill prevention measures will help align operations with local environmental regulations and international standards. Exploring opportunities to integrate renewable energy sources into operations, such as using solar power for remote sites, can reduce the carbon footprint and enhance sustainability. Leveraging regional experience to navigate Turkmenistan’s regulatory environment effectively ensures compliance with local laws, secures necessary permits, and maintains transparent communication with regulatory bodies.

Establishing R&D partnerships with local universities and research institutions will foster innovation and adaptation of technologies suited to Turkmenistan’s unique energy landscape. By focusing on these strategic initiatives, an oil service company can leverage its regional experience to support Turkmenistan's energy industry, driving efficiency, sustainability, and growth.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES DO YOU SEE IN THE TURKMENISTAN MARKET?

Turkmenistan boasts substantial oil and natural gas reserves, particularly in the Caspian Sea and the Amu Darya basin, offering abundant opportunities for exploration and drilling. The government is committed to attracting foreign investment in its oil and gas sector, introducing initiatives and reforms to facilitate international collaboration and investment. This includes potential incentives and streamlined processes for foreign companies. Ongoing efforts to modernize and expand the country’s energy infrastructure present opportunities for oilfield service companies to engage in large-scale development projects.
